MALAYSIA ROAD CYCLOCROSS SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP (MRCX) will be organised as series event involving 3 STAGES of the tournament that will be implemented throughout Malaysia and ends with one (1) main stage of the tournament called the GRAND FINAL that takes place at Pahang on technical outdoor courses of grass, dirt, mud, sand also man-build obstacle requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike while navigating the obstruction and remount. Cyclo-cross has parallels with mountain bike racing, criterium road racing and steeplechase racing. Compared with other forms of cycle racing, tactics are fairly straight forward, and the emphasis is on the rider's aerobic endurance and bike-handling skills where cyclists form a line with the lead cyclist pedaling harder while reducing the wind resistance for other riders, is of much less importance than in road racing where average speeds are much higher than in cyclo-cross. Races usually consist of many laps over a short course, ending when a time limit is reached, rather than after a specific number of laps or certain distance; Generally, each lap is around 2.5km - 3.5km. Competitors start in a bunch and spread out - the faster riders will complete more laps within time and winning the race.

Cyclo-cross racing can be as competitive as you want it to be. You're all riding round in circles 'til the time is up, so even if you get lapped, you won't be more than a mile or so away from the winner. Cyclocross is an incredibly fun discipline of cycling that will  challenge you and leave you with a smile on your face after every event. Easily accessible and fun to watch, it’s the perfect discipline to start with for those looking to give competitive cycling a try.
