The objective of this road ultramarathon event is to promote Terengganu as a destination for “Run-Cation”, combination of running and vacation in this beautiful East Coast State of Terengganu. This initiative is to promote sport-tourism in Terengganu and to promote local economic tourism industries that were badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic for the past two years.

This road running event consist of categories 10km, 25km, 50km, 100km and the main 100 miles distances. The running route will take participants through many scenic route along the beautiful coast of Kuala Terengganu.

The organizer is expecting many runners to come and run this inaugural 100km foot race in Terengganu. Hopefully, this event will help to promote and encourage sport-tourism, in addition to revives the local tourism industries in Terengganu.

In five years (5) time, Hutan Ration & Malatra Events foresee that this Hutan Ration Ultramarathon has the potential to be the biggest annual running festival in the East Coast, attracting both local and foreign tourist to come for a run-cation and sport-tourism in Terengganu.

Entry Qualification

  • Must be 18 years old and above
  • Full vaccinated ( 2nd dose and past 14 days after last vaccination)
  • Participants having the following medical conditions ARE NOT ALLOWED to participate in this trail event:
    1. Congenital or rheumatic heart conditions
    2. Hypertension
    3. Myocarditis and other heart conditions
    4. Coronary heart disease, coronary arterial disease
    5. Serious arrhythmia
    6. Diabetes
    7. Any other disease which can be aggravated by running
  • The organiser is not liable for any medical issues due to participants hiding their true medical conditions.
  • All participants need to upload their Covid-19 Vaccination Cert
  • 100 miler & 100km participants need to upload their qualifying certificate
  • 100 miler participants need to finish at least one 100km race road/trail.
  • 100km participants need to finish at least one 50km race road/trail.

Important Notice

  • Participants are advised to read the following Important Notice, Terms & Conditions and Official Rules carefully before the race.
  • Participants are advised to solicit medical advice from doctor if they are in doubt of their health condition prior to taking part in the race.
  • All entry fees are non-refundable and the Organizer retains the right to refuse entry to anyone declaring false information on their entry form, not making the required payment, or otherwise failing to meet the stated entry requirements.

COVID-19 SOP

Due to Covid-19 pandemic in our country, both participants and organiser will follow strict Covid-19 SOP as stated by MKN and KKM. As organiser we took active approach and continuously consult and work with relevant government authorities and also with the local communities to make this event as safe as possible to all.

All participants, staff, crew and organiser must be fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus on race day to participate in the event. This means a time span of minimum 14 days after the second dose of approved vaccines that require two doses, and minimum 28 days after vaccination for approved vaccines requiring only one dose.

We will also conduct RTK onsite for all crews and participants before the event start. Once passed the RTK, a wrist band will be issued to all and only then participants will allowed to enter race village to collect their race kit.

Official Rules

  1. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify or exclude any person from competition who gives incorrect personal data / details on the entry form, or who is suspected of having taken banned substances. No refund of entry fee will be arranged.
  2. No result or certificate will be given to participants who do not start in the race time assigned to them by the Organizer.
  3. Participants must retire from the race immediately, if asked / requested to do so by any member of the officials, medical staff, race director or security officers / marshals.
  4. No pets or any form of wheel-run objects of transport, bicycles, skates, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers, etc. are NOT allowed on the course.

Pictures and Documentation

The organizer shall be entitled to use pictures and documentation of the participants taken during the event for purposes related with the event or any future events.

Amendments / Reservations / Acknowledgment  

  1. Organizer reserves the right to modify, supplement or waive all or part of the event rules.
  2. Failure to follow these event rules, as may be amended, will result in immediate disqualification and loss of prize money.
  3. The Organizer reserves the right to close entries before the deadline without any notice once the race quota is full.
  4. Entry forms will only be processed upon receipt of full payment of entry fee.
  5. The organizer reserves the right to limit and refuse entries without reason.
  6. The Organizer reserves the right to contact and to interview applicants by phone or otherwise for additional information required for matters relating to their applications.
  7. Entry fees are non-refundable. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse entries once the entry is accepted if any applicants provide false information, do not make the required payment, or fail to meet entry requirements as stated in the entry form.
  8. Should the event be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the control of the Organizer (including heavy rain, thunder storm or disaster, public rally), no refund of the entry fee will be made and the Organizer shall have no further responsibility and/or liability thereafter.
  9. Running is not a ‘free risk’ sport and therefore each runner must ensure his/her health condition is fit before participating and during the race. Each runner shall be responsible with his/her own health/condition. The Organizer shall be responsible for personal injury or death during or after the race due to gross negligence of the Organizer.
  10. The Organizer reserves the right to disallow/ disqualify any person who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the event. Should a runner get injured during the race, on case by case basis as recommended by medical team as appointed by the Organizer to monitor the race, such runner may be treated in hospital as designated by the Organizer with a treatment cost not exceeding the amount agreed by the Organizer and the relevant hospital circumstances.
  11. The organizer and its agents will not be held responsible for any issues relating to parking at the venue. Participants are advised to follow the instructions given by traffic personnel for proper parking. The organizer and its agent will not be held responsible due to losses suffered in the event of break in or vandalism to the vehicles of participants. Proper vigilance must be exercised by all participants when parking their vehicles.
