Keepable Cancer Walk 2019

Keepable Cancer Walk is back THIS YEAR with the theme: The Purple Waves.

KeepAble 2019 Cancer Walk is a charity walk event organised by Medical Society of University of Malaya(MEDSOC) and KeepAble Cancer Community Centre.

 

OBJECTIVES:

1) Raise awareness about early detection of cancer and encourage healthy lifestyle activities among cancer survivors, carers & the public.

2) Promote ways to remain able and functional after active treatment in cancer survivors.

3) Promote awareness to cancer survivors in UMMC on supportive community networking and care at KeepAble Cancer Community Centre.

4) Raise fund for KeepAble Cancer Community Centre

***There is no registration for 12 years old children and below. However, we encourage to bring along your children during walk to have fun.

General Term and Conditions

  1. By registering and providing information (personal or otherwise)  to gain access to the walk event or any of our services involving the organizers/ event sponsors, the individual is deemed to have given consent for the organizers,  to collect, analyse, share to third parties for the purpose of furtherance of the event.  
  2. The Organizers reserve the right to modify or substitute any of these rules and regulations pertaining to the event from time to time. If there is ambiguity in any of the provision, the organizers shall be the authority to interpret and in so doing, the Organizers will take into accounts the interests of all the affected parties.
  3. The Organizers reserve the right to cancel the function in the event of unforeseen circumstances where it is unsafe or not feasible to hold the event, and in which case, the organizers will make effort to inform the participants. The organisers will try to refund the participation fees to the participant if its more than one month before the date of the event. There will be no fee refund if the event has to be cancelled less than 2 weeks prior to the date of the event. 
  4. Once registration has been duly processed, there will be no fees refund if the participant eventually does not take part for whatsoever reason
  5. The Organizers will not be in any way responsible for any dispute arising from incomplete or inaccurate entry details in the registration form.
  6. The Organizers reserve the right to amend the walk routes as they deem fit for the safety of the participants at any time. In such case, every effort will be made to inform the participant before the event. The organizers shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience due to such changes.
  7. Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the organizers to ensure the participants' safety, participants walk at their own risk.  The organizers will not be held responsible or liable for any injury or death arising during participation in the walk. Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or consultation prior to participation.
  8. A participant must discontinue the walk immediately, if directed to do so by members of the official medical staff, organiser, referee and/or security officer.
  9. Pets, bicycles, in-line skates, prams, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers and any other wheel-run objects are not allowed on the course other than official race and medical vehicles unless with special permission from the organizers.
  10. The organizers reserve the right to use any photographs or media taken at and during the event, for non-commercial cancer prevention activities or advertisement.
  11. The Organizers reserve the right to reject entry without giving any reason and notice.
  12. The Organizers does not provide insurance coverage for the participants. Participant is liable for their own safety.

 

WAIVER CLAUSE : In consideration of the acceptance of my entry, I, hereby unconditionally waive and release the organizers, event sponsors and all person connected with it, from all claims whatsoever, that may arise from my participation in this event, including without limitation, personal injury.

3km Non competitive Walk

  1. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
  2. This is a non-competitive event and there are no prizes for top finishers.
  3. All participants are encouraged to wear official Tshirt of the event and proper shoes
