* The student price is only for students. Students aged 6-17 can register with the student price without verification. Students above age 18 must show their Student Card (or other proof of student status) during race kit collection for verification of their student status. Failure to do so will result in disqualification without refund.

** For Group Registration, each group can consist of a mixture of public participants and student participants. The charges will vary accordingly.

Objectives:
  • Raise public awareness towards the role of ASHRAE.
  • Raise funds for ASHRAE UM Student Chapter and ASHRAE UTAR Student Chapter for student activities (Eg. Industrial Visits, Seminars, Conferences, Workshops and Courses).
By joining this run, you are directly contributing to the students’ involvement in making Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigerating (HVAC&R) technologies greener and better, thus making the world a better place to live in.
American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) was founded in 1894, is a global society advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment. The Society and its members focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability within the industry. Through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education, ASHRAE shapes tomorrow’s built environment today. ASHRAE was formed as the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers by the merger in 1959 of American Society of Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHAE) founded in 1894 and The American Society of Refrigerating Engineers (ASRE) founded in 1904.In 2012, as part of a rebranding, ASHRAE began doing business as “ASHRAE” vs. using its full legal name of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. Use of ASHRAE reflects the Society’s worldwide membership and that services will continue evolving globally.
  • Registration starts at 5.30a.m.
  • The gathering point will be at the compound in front of Dewan Tunku Canselor (DTC), University of Malaya.
  • Participants can park at the parking areas near DTC, Kompleks Perdanasiswa, Examination Hall of University of Malaya, and other parking spaces available. We will provide road signs and our crew will guide vehicles to the parking areas.
  • Participants are advised to check their e-mails regularly for updates (if any) of the event.

    7:05AM – 5KM Fun Run
Baggage storage is available from 5:30am to 10:00am only. Please do not leave any valuable items in your bags. Any bags not collected after 10:00am will be disposed of. This is a free service. The organizers will not be held liable for any missing or damaged items stored in the baggage area.
Collection Details:
  1. Public [This includes everyone including students NOT from UM and UTAR SG LONG Campus]
    • Participants from this category must collect their race kit on either of these dates:
      • 4th February 2018 (Sunday) (12pm-8pm) Person in charge: Moo Deqing (+6012-6753211)
      • 10th February 2018 (Saturday) (9am-6pm) Person in charge: Vivien (+6010-7179272)
    • Venue: Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya (Google: https://goo.gl/maps/33UfqW67Pv32)
      • The Race Kit Collection will take place at the Biomedical Engineering Foyer. Please navigate to the Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya, and our crew will be ready there to guide you to the foyer. There will also be road signs.
  2. UM Students
    • All UM Students must collect their race kit on either of these dates:
      • 7th February 2018 (Wednesday) (10am-6pm) Person in charge: Foo Kit (+6016-9218319)
      • 8th February 2018 (Thursday) (10am-6pm) Person in charge: Bao Xuan (+6016-5973175)
    • Venue: Faculty of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering Foyer), University of Malaya (Google: https://goo.gl/maps/33UfqW67Pv32)
  3. UTAR SG LONG Students
    Due to logistics purposes (different T-shirt receiving dates and venues), ALL UTAR SG LONG Students MUST collect their race kit at the UTAR SG LONG Campus. People who are NOT UTAR SG LONG Students CANNOT collect their race kit at UTAR SG LONG Campus. The dates, venue and time of the Race Kit Collection at the UTAR SG LONG campus will be notified to UTAR SG LONG Student Participants later via e-mail and phone.

Notes:
  1. To collect your Race Kit, you must show your IC/passport and confirmation email (hard copy or soft copy). Your BIB number will be assigned during the Race Kit collection.
  2. As mentioned in our Rules and Regulations, participants under the age of 18 MUST submit their indemnity forms (signed by your parents/guardians) during Race Kit Collection. Participants aged 6-12 MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Those who fail to do so will be disqualified with no refund.
  3. Students aged 6-17 can register with the student price without verification. Students aged 18 and above must show their Student Card (or other proof of student status) during Race Kit collection for verification of their student status. Failure to do so will result in disqualification without refund.
  4. You are allowed to send a representative to collect your Race Kit on your behalf. The representative must present your confirmation email (hard copy or soft copy). If you registered with a student price, your representative must also present your student card (or other proof of your student status) to verify your student status. We will not give out the race kit to unverified individuals.
  5. Due to logistics purposes (different T-shirt receiving dates, venues and parking issues), participants MUST follow the dates and venues stated above in collecting their Race Kit according to their identities.
